TRA Program Evaluator conducts program review and submits a report of recommendations (if any), using the standard program review form.
Qualifications and Experience
Completion of a recognized Activity Assistant, Therapeutic Recreation Assistant, Physiotherapy Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation Therapy, Kinesiology Certificate or Diploma or Higher.
Minimum of two years full time work experience in planning, implementing, adapting, facilitating, supervising and evaluating therapeutic leisure and recreation programs and activities (music, art, exercise/fitness, social events, sports activities, outings, etc.) in ADC, Assisted Living or Long-term Care facility or Community setting.
Comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic recreation approaches and techniques, person-centred practice and current best practice guidelines.
Knowledge of and experience in developing therapeutic recreation care plans in conjunction with other health professionals and administering / maintaining documentation (assessments, progress notes, etc.).
Knowledge of adult learning techniques and experience in supervising, training, coaching or mentoring recreation assistants, activity aides, practicum students and volunteers.
Detail oriented, with good organizational and communication skills and abilities.
Proficient in MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
