The Raptors is a bird of prey and falconry organization dedicated to raising awareness for birds of prey and promoting conservation. The Raptors is hiring for a Wildlife Management Supervisor based out of Vancouver, BC. This position would be primarily at a landfill as well as other waste management sites in the lower mainland, using trained raptors to mitigate environmental and safety hazards caused by gulls feeding on the waste. The Wildlife Management Supervisor would work directly with the Vancouver Area Manager to manage the operational aspects and logistics of these sites. Working at these sites requires lots of on-foot patrolling and working even in inclement weather. For background on our bird abatement work, visit our website. The suitable candidate would have: * Post-secondary education in a STEM field * Experience with team organization & logistics * Experience with data management * Excellent communication skills * Ability to solve problems and be resourceful * Ability to work alone, as well as with a team * Adaptability to a variety of work and tasks * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Passion for and experience with animals, especially birds * Must have a vehicle for transportation Exceptional candidates may also possess the following: * First aid training and experience * Outdoor field skills * Public speaking and/or education experience * Wildlife/Animal First Aid Please submit a cover letter and resume, or enquire for more information on the position.
