Current ski trends have the concept of rocker being put into just about every ski out there and most forms are largely the same. Rocker is a set amount of rise over the tip and/or tail of a ski, Amphibio is a totally reworked approach. The idea is simple enough, rocker makes skis easy to turn and camber gives skis great edge grip, so why not use both. To achieve this Amphibio skis are fully cambered tip to tail on the inside edges for power and grip, but the outside edge is slightly rockered in the tip and tail allowing the uphill ski to enter the turn with ease and control. This technology creates a right and left specific ski, so extra attention must be paid, but it is worth the amazing turn feel of the Amphibio Insomnia.
A true game changer, the Insomnia is a very approachable ski with a high performance feel. Using Waveflex with the Amphibio allows the Insomnia to be very strong and aggressive on edge but enter and exit a turn with a level on ease not even found in most beginner skis. When combined with a light weight Trulite woodcore and a Mono Ti layer the Insomnia will rival any other frontside or carving ski out there. However, unlike most high end carvers, anyone from an athletic intermediate to an aggressive advanced skier can easily turn and feel incredibly comfortable on the Insomnia.
